I know it's yet another picture I've drawn again that's from another game! Well this time its from Ark of Napishtim. I know so bare with me. Origionally I was trying to draw the actual character but then I thought I should change it up a bit. So then I made her my other character Rena. She's a little girl who's the daughter of my character Ry Leonhart and Elken Zhao. So here she is, bare with me please! Origionally I only wanted to draw something and edit it and see if I can practice more of my skills in photoshopping cloth materials like silk, dresses and more skin color. This time even the eyes too.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now as for my drawings, I know you probably seem some similar art styles, poses and, etc., you see from other animes or games. But you see, my weakness in drawing is that I'm not good at drawing my own poses! I have to look at something in order to draw something. So I'm sorry if that offends you or bothers you. So please bare with me. I'm still practicing on working on drawing my own poses and making the drawings some right. Also I do not do 'most' of my backgrounds so please don't get a misunderstanding! I am still practicing to do my own backgrounds. EDIT: I have changed the picture. Now it actually has skin color! Also I have touched up on the lines that weren't really visible. Hope you all like it more than it was now.
(Credit of pose/style from the anime/site/character/game is given to... Ark of Napishtim.)
^^ Well my older brother taught me how to use the pen tool on photoshop 7 so it can make straight lines for you. ^^ At first I was using the mouse and simply drawing over the lines which gives me lines that aren't as straight as you see. So if you use photoshop, use the pen tool! ^^
What a coincidence I learned to use photoshop from my older brother too!
Oh the pen tool! Woa I tried it and it really works! Thanks! Is there any way to stop the auto fill?
Yes indeed the pen tool works! xD Well hmm, what I do is to... (look up at the top where it has those options, highlight them to see which tools to click on...)
1. Set it on "Paths" which is the icon on top where it has the pen tool shape with a box around it.
2. Set it on "pen tool" where it has the icon of a pen tool where it doesn't have a dotted line.
3. Then set it on "Add to path area (+)" where you see a box overlapping the other.
~That is if your settings aren't on this already.
Now, when you need to draw the line, right click it and click "Stroke path" and then wala! A wonderful straight line. xD I wouldn't drag the line out so that you can make curves with it since it's really, really complicated with photoshop since it's unlike some other drawing programs (something like... photoshop CS, can't remember the name if thats correct or not xD.) So continue clicking through your lines to create a path you want the line to be.
To make filling in color a whole lot easier than using the paint bucket (on Image Ready if thats what you use) instead, (for example your trying to fill in a circle) create a path inside of the outline of your circle until your line is fully connected. How do you know if its connected? When you manage to make a path allll the way back to your first dot (the anchor point) there will be a tiny little circle beside it. Click on your anchor point and it will create that line. Then simply right click and select "Fill path" and have it set on your "Foreground Color" so that it will fill the entire section of the color you wanted.
This technique is also easy to use the history brush, and other tools when you made mistakes and all.
You can also use it to make a selection of it so you won't draw outside of other areas tha tyou don't want to touch. Simply make a path until you connect it together and right click, select "Make Selection" and then it'll allow you to only draw on that area.
I hope I explained things correctly or at least easy to understand. >>; I have a hard time explaining things. xD If you have any more questions, ask away! Gladly I'd love to help and try to explain things over or even more thoroughly.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
